Marubeni Forest LinX Environmental Policy
CONSUMPTION

In May 2002, we announced our own Environmental Policy, consisting of the basic philosophy and the basic policy. We constantly update this Policy and familiarize all executives, employees and stakeholders with it.
The basic policy stipulates that "in our business activities, we will always consider our impact on the environment and, in cooperation with our stakeholders, contribute to the reduction of environmental risks, including the effective use of resources, addressing climate change, conserving and protecting the environment - including its biodiversity and ecosystems - and preventing pollution."
Promotion of Women's Activities
As part of our efforts to create an environment in which all employees can maximize their potential, we are actively engaged in the promotion of women's activities, such as through our participation in International Women's Day, where we reflect on gender equality and take action toward its realization, and our introduction of "femtech" services on a trial basis to solve women's specific health issues.
ISO 14001 (Environmental Management System)
ISO 14001 is an international standard for environmental management systems established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
It provides a framework for organizations to protect the environment and respond to changing environmental conditions while balancing socioeconomic needs.

Sale of forest certification products
Under the forest certification schemes which were created against the backdrop of global deforestation and forest degradation issues, we sell products made from wood materials that are produced in properly managed forests appropriate from an environmental protection perspective as well as socially beneficial and economically sustainable.

International systems for responsible sourcing of managed forests and forest products that are appropriate from an environmental protection perspective as well as socially beneficial and economically sustainable.
- FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) is an international non-profit organization established in 1993 to promote proper forest management.
- PEFC is an international organization established in 1999 to promote sustainable forest management.
Developing plastic-free and environmentally-friendly plastic products
CONSUMPTION

Marubeni Forest LinX promote the development and popularization of environmentally-friendly products that can replace conventional plastic products in the field of packaging like paper bags, food containers and packages.
Our paper straws are already in use at hotels, cafes, hospitals and Marubeni's in-house cafeteria.
Furthermore, we actively develope and market products with a lower environmental burden, such as biodegradable plastic product blended the new technology material "P-Life".
Creating a sustainable system with recyclable tableware
CONSUMPTION

The Marubeni Group has created recyclable tableware "edish" made from food waste by molding it with our unique technology and operates sustainable system using "edish."
We collect "edish" after use with food leftovers and upcycle into feed and manure.
Through the creation of this sustainable system, Marubeni Forest LinX promote a resource-circulating society and work to solve various issues customers and local governments face.
Soft pack tissue
CONSUMPTION
AND PRODUCTION
To contribute to waste reduction, Marubeni Forest LinX has produced "soft pack tissue" eliminating a paper outer box as own brand tissue "fleur doux" and supplies it to major supermarkets and drugstores.
In August 2021, we further strengthened our efforts to protect the global environment by lauching a soft pack product used biodegradable plastic.
Recycling/reusing corrugated containerboard waste
CONSUMPTION
AND PRODUCTION
Marubeni Forest LinX has built a "closed recycling" system for discarded containerboard boxes. We collect them generated at customers’ distribution centers and recycle into new corrugated containerboard products by Marubeni Group paper manufacturers for the customers.
For customers such as apparel companies and other retailers, we also can offer the system recycling their containerboard boxes into other packaging materials like paper bags and envelopes. We develop new schemes to reduce waste generation and keep cycling resources.
Bottle to Bottle Project
CONSUMPTION
AND PRODUCTION
Aeon and the Marubeni Group have collaborated to create a new supply chain system in which post-consumer plastic bottles collected at Aeon stores are recycled into new bottles for their private label products.
Marubeni Forest LinX is in charge of building and operating the distribution system from Aeon stores to the recycling plant. We contribute to the reduction of plastic waste.
Support services for decarbonization management
Calculating greenhouse gas emissions is difficult for companies to do alone. We have developed and provide the platform that enables visualization and simulation of that problem and support supply chain optimization for client businesses.
We will further expand our services including the offer of low-carbon technologies and carbon credits and support decarbonized management powerfully.
